Speed and real-world performance
The main feature of the Ender 3 V3 CoreXZ is its speed. Creality lists a print speed of up to 600 mm per second and acceleration of 2,000 mm per second squared. In testing, a Benchy took approximately 12 and a half minutes of print time, or closer to 15 to 16 minutes when heating and preparation were included.
The printer was not consistently 12 times faster in real-world use. Smaller prints could approach the higher claimed improvement, while more complex models slowed down when printing detailed sections and corners. Overall, the tested performance was generally around three to four times faster than an older Ender 3.
Design and hardware
The printer has a rigid frame, a heavy base and thick rubber feet to manage the movement created by its high speeds. It uses multiple belts and self-tensioning belt adjustment, along with a calibration process that measures vibration before printing. Because the printer moves its weight around considerably, it should be placed on a very solid, stable bench.
The integrated print head contains the fan, heating unit and filament drive. The head has front and rear fans that push a substantial amount of air. The stepper motors are relatively quiet, but the printer becomes loud once it is operating at speed.
The heated magnetic bed provided good first-layer adhesion without hairspray or glue during testing. The bed coating also felt stronger than the black plastic-style versions used on other printers.
Features and usability
A full-colour touchscreen provides access to printer settings, including temperatures, cooling, brightness, language, updates and network controls. Wi-Fi is built in, allowing prints to be sent wirelessly rather than transferred using a memory card. Files can also be viewed with an image preview, which helps identify different versions of a design.
Automatic levelling worked well, although the printer uses a different approach from the removable probe found on some other models. The printer also supports a USB camera and AI functionality, but the AI features were not tested because the required Creality camera was not available.
Creality’s software is currently the recommended option because it includes the up-to-date profile for this printer. Other slicers may not yet have a profile specific to the model.
Filament and maintenance limitations
Creality recommends its Hyper Series fast filament, but testing with another filament did not show a noticeable difference in the resulting prints. A black UV filament did show some warping, although the reviewer noted that print speed may have contributed and can be reduced when necessary.
Changing filament is less convenient than on some other printers. The filament route includes small tubes that are difficult to feed through, and the heat shield is easy to remove but more difficult to reinstall. The lower filament position also caused some interference with cables and surrounding parts.
One supplied filament accessory was found to be ineffective because it could become stuck on the filament and cause printing problems. The reviewer recommended not using it.
Print quality
Print quality remained strong despite the high speed. The Benchy showed very few faults, although there was some warping around the bottom. An F-16 model made from a 3D scan printed well, despite the imperfections in the source scan. A car model printed using a stone-effect filament with particles also came out well.
The results suggest that speed does not automatically reduce quality, but the best performance depends on the complexity of the model, the filament used and the selected speed settings.
