The short version

Key points

  • Intel Core Ultra 5 125H processor with 14 cores, 18 threads and speeds up to 4.5GHz.
  • 32GB of DDR5-5600 memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, with room for another SSD.
  • Intel Arc graphics support hardware ray tracing, although ray-traced gaming performance was poor in testing.
  • Quiet operation was measured at approximately 32 to 35dB during general use.
  • Supports up to three displays, with HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C display output options.

Compact design and cooling

The Beelink SEi14 is a small Windows 11 mini PC designed to sit behind or underneath a monitor rather than occupy a full desktop tower. Its cooling system, called MSC 2.0, combines a vapor chamber with a fan. During normal use, the fan was described as effectively silent, with a measured noise level of approximately 32 to 35dB.

During full-load testing, the CPU reached around 70 degrees Celsius, while the RAM and SSD stayed at approximately 50 degrees according to CPU-Z. These temperatures were considered suitable for a mini PC of this size.

Hardware and everyday performance

The main processor is Intel's Core Ultra 5 125H, with 14 cores, 18 threads, an 18MB cache and a maximum speed of 4.5GHz. The review configuration includes 32GB of DDR5-5600 memory, supplied as two 16GB modules, along with a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The storage can be expanded with another SSD.

For everyday tasks such as word processing, spreadsheets, web browsing and general office work, the SEi14 performed well. It was also used for Photoshop and Adobe Audition without reported issues. Video editing in Adobe Premiere was generally smooth with 4K footage, although there was some lag when multiple video layers were placed above one another. Rendering was not as fast as on a larger, more powerful computer.

Graphics and gaming

The integrated graphics use Intel's Arc architecture and run at up to 2.2GHz. Hardware ray tracing is supported, but testing with Quake 2 produced very poor frame rates, so the review did not recommend the feature for gaming. Its graphics performance is better suited to less demanding games and general media use.

Fortnite ran at approximately 30 frames per second at 1080p in testing. Reducing the quality and other settings increased performance to around 48 frames per second. Older or less demanding games, including examples such as Minecraft, Age of Empires and Command and Conquer, were presented as more suitable uses.

Ports and connectivity

The SEi14 offers a broad selection of connections. At the rear are a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, HDMI output capable of 4K at 60Hz, DisplayPort 1.4a, USB ports, a 3.5mm audio connection and a Thunderbolt 4 port rated at 40Gbps. There is also a rear USB-C port described as supporting 480Mbps.

The front adds another USB-C data port rated at 10Gbps, a USB 3.2 port, a second 3.5mm audio jack, the power button and a CMOS clear button. The mini PC supports up to three displays using the available HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C outputs. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

Who is it for?

With a price discussed in the review as being around $1,000, the Beelink SEi14 is positioned as an all-in-one mini PC rather than a bare-bones system that requires additional memory and storage. It can suit an office, home workspace or hot-desk setup where a small, power-efficient computer with plenty of ports is useful.

It can also work as a media or family computer, and provides enough graphics performance for some casual gaming. However, it is not presented as a replacement for a larger gaming PC or a high-end video-editing workstation.

TechManPat’s conclusion

I can recommend the Beelink SEi14 for anyone looking for a mini PC around the $1,000 mark. In my view, its combination of performance, quiet cooling, included memory and storage, Windows 11 and extensive connectivity makes it a strong all-in-one package, particularly for office work and general everyday use.
