Build and specifications

The 9AM Home Pesk Pro uses a FAS grade North American black walnut desktop, presented in a dark walnut brown finish. The wood is described as strong, durable and resistant to cracking and warping. Its grain and colour are a central part of the desk’s design, giving it a more premium appearance than a basic office workstation.

The desktop has rounded upper edges rather than traditional sharp corners. This is intended to make the front edge more comfortable when the user’s arms or elbows rest against it while working. The desk frame is made from powder coated steel and uses dual Bosch motors, with one motor in each leg.

Size, height and lifting capacity

The desk measures 1,800 mm wide and 750 mm deep. Its height is listed as ranging from 630 to 1,280 mm, and its lifting capacity is stated as up to 125 kg. The desk also includes anti-collision and overload protection.

Pat explains that a practical way to choose a standing height is to adjust the desktop until it is level with, or slightly below, the elbows. This should leave the elbows close to a 90-degree angle when working at a laptop or computer.

The controls can save sitting and standing heights, allowing the desk to move between preferred positions. Pat also reports that the motors lifted the desk smoothly while supporting the desktop and his own weight during his hands-on experience.

OLED controls and reminders

The Pesk Pro has an OLED smart control system with clearly labelled functions, so the main controls can be understood without relying heavily on the manual. In addition to normal up and down adjustment, the system can save three height positions.

The desk includes reminders that can be set to 30, 45 or 60 minutes. These can operate as a reminder light, a desk vibration or automatic standing, where the desk slowly raises itself to encourage the user to stand. This gives the desk more active sitting and standing support than a basic electric height-adjustable model.

Design, stability and setup

Pat used the Pesk Pro as a home office workstation for a laptop, as well as for general web browsing. He describes the desk as sturdy during his initial experience, without the side-to-side wobble he has noticed with other standing desks. The rounded desktop edge was also comfortable to touch while working.

The assembly process was described as straightforward. Pat said the parts aligned correctly and did not require bending, pushing or struggling to fit them into place. The desk also includes slim drawers mounted underneath the desktop, providing storage for reducing clutter while retaining the clean appearance of the workstation.

Materials, motors and accessories

The desk’s two German-made Bosch motors are described as powerful, smooth and quiet. Combined with the thick steel legs and frame, they are intended to provide a stable and fast lift. Pat also noted that the product had no noticeable smell or odour when he opened the box.

For sustainability-conscious buyers, the video states that 9AM has an environmental sustainability certification from GREENGUARD. The available accessories include the under-desk walnut drawers, a power box with power outlets, USB-C and USB-A, and a monitor stand. A monitor arm can also be mounted to the desk, depending on the monitor setup.
